
Fur looks better than here. But still not really astonishing :) I guess it's best I can do for now.

Actually lighting is not much of a deal. here are 2 spotlights with buffered shadow are used. with lowered bias to 0.2. environment lighting too a little.
I was just playing around with fur settings and found strand properties for its material which controls the thickness of root and tip of each hair. Before thickness was equal. Now tip is at minimum. Also I don't know if it actually works or not but for fur texture there was alpha blend applied so that closer to the tip of hair alpha lowers down. But I can't see the effect.
Also hair interpolated childs - I gave a bit of randomness for them so that hairs have some jitter in their length. And also some variation to the fur texture. Some black cloud texture with its parameters set so it affects brightness of hair relative to alpha level or something like that.
That sound like a lot, but anyway playing with that much of parameters is pretty interesting for now. Nor as it interesting to realise that core 2 quad CPU just chokes on rendering even one frame like that using all cores... so much math for it :)
