Funnily enough, untill the Victorian era, Pink really was considered a manly colour here in Britain. Traditional hunting outfits are still referred to as Pinks, despite being red and you can see examples in portraits from 1600's onwards of fashionable gentlemen wearing pink clothing
Indeed! And until very late in history, pink was considered the colour to dress baby boys in, and blue for baby girls. Blue was the more serene of the two and pink was consider bold and manly. (:
