Bio:
Shane was born with a genetic defect; his eyes did not develop irises and pupils, leaving him permanently blind. From the very beginning, Shane's mother and father knew he would have to live life through his other senses and decided it was best not to 'cushion' his development with countless unnecessary precautions.

Though incapable of sight, Shane quickly grew accustomed to seeing with his other senses, hearing even the slightest of sounds, smelling the most subtle smells and even feeling movements and changes in the air around him.

At the age of 5, Shane's parents took him with them on an expedition into uncharted rainforest territory [his parents were archeologists]. While there, they discovered a tribe of natives who welcomed and offered shelter to the expedition for the duration of their studies of the surrounding area. While his parents worked, the natives watched Shane confidently find his way regardless of lack of sight and took it apon themselves to teach Shane how to live with his blindness to even greater effect. After several years, the expedition ended and the native tribe was left behind. Before the expedition, Shane had been able to find his way through his darkness with little difficulty, but when they left, the blind wolf walked as though he could see as well as any other.

For the next 7 years, Shane lived a relatively normal life, attending school and making friends. Those he met were always amazed at how well he managed with his disability and those who knew him well often forgot he could not see.

When Shane was old enough to leave home, he set out to find the native tribe he'd spent his younger years in. With the help of a small expedition team, Shane located the tribe and was welcomed back as one of their own. Older, wiser and more confident, the natives decided to train Shane in their ways of combat. Because the tribe lived deep in the rainforest, they often had to rely on senses other than sight in order to hunt and even fend off rival tribes. In the past, other travelers had visited and lived with the tribe, some of the travelers were highly skilled warriors who passed on fighting techniques as thanks for taking care of them, which were continued to be taught to following generations and eventually taught to Shane.

When Shane eventually left the tribe once more, at 29, he was a highly skilled combatant and capable of weilding a blade as deftly as any ancient samurai.

Personality:
Shane has a naturally calm and friendly demeanour, often accompanied by a warm smile and subtle, even sarcastic humour. He is ever alert and generally cautious as well as good natured and kind. If someone around him needs help, Shane won't hesitate to step in if he can help.

When caught in a scrap, Shane often catches his attackers off guard with his exceptional skill. Fooled into a false sense of security by his obvious blindness and apparent helplessness, the fight typically lasts mere moments as Shane makes quick examples of his attackers, disarming and demoralising them with ease. It would take an equally skilled fighter to not be intimidated by Shane's skills despite his blindness.

Even in the heat of combat, Shane is able to keep a level head and calm posture. His actions are typically swift and precise. When attacking, Shane's assault is usually defensive in nature, avoiding inflicting serious injury unless absolutely necessary.

When conversing with the opposite sex, Shane is often suave and charming. He often speaks poetically, with hidden meanings and flirtaceous innuendos. Some would consider him to be a lecherous womaniser. While this is not necessarily untrue, sleeping with women is typically not the first thing on Shane's mind.

Shane makes no attempt to mislead or delude. He is single and greatly enjoys the company of beautiful women, sometimes even more than one, and will not hide this fact. Because he has no significant other, Shane sees no reason why he can't be with a woman purely for the enjoyment of being with her. However, Shane is respectful and considers each and every woman to be as special as any other. He is typically gentle and sensual, putting his current partner before himself. A blind man's hands can be exceptionally entertaining.

Shane is intelligent and greatly enjoys a witty conversation leading up to and even continuing through sex. If the woman Shane is with can match him for second meanings and flirtaceous innuendos, the wolf only enjoys the encounter more.

Attire:
Shane's most common clothes consist of a light blue button-up shirt, black trousers and a brown belt.

Weapon:
At all times, Shane holds a simple looking black cane with a red tassle on the end, measuring almost a meter from end to tip. A few inches from the end, ridges are carved into the cane. Within the cane is a hidden katana blade. The ridges indicate to shane the edge of the sword's handle.
