So I got Hermit Crabs yesterday and decided to post some pictures. So Barnabus is the one in the funky looking shell by the logs and Hurlke is the rock looking one on the water shell. Going to invest in a bigger habitat because they need more space, especially Barnabus because the long part on his shell.

To save you alot of trouble: Hermit crabs require the ability to dig in to substrate to molt. Any substrate with bark particles in it is not recommended as this causes irritation for them. They also require humidity. Buy a layer of plastic from a hardware store to put over your new tank and leave a crack for them to breath. They will also need an exact mixture of salt water, a fresh water bowl, and I would recommend dry foods like freeze dried shrimp and coconut shavings (you can buy these at the pet store or even Wal-Mart in some cases and they last a long time). Also, make sure that all water is treated for chlorine. You may have read up on this, but sometimes this information is not quite easy to find.
Yea I'm gonna get them a tank on Thursday when I get paid, but the food, water and humidity are all in check, and they are able to dig, one of them has already made a hole he sleeps in. And they love the bark, they climb on it and stuff, but thank you for the reccomendations. I think they need a shack too, gonna get them one when I get the tank along with more sand if they need it. I bought them a little pool but it's too big for now, it'll be their salt water pool since I use fresh water for the sponge and when I mist the tank.
