Zecora is a really cool character. :D I've always liked the archetype myself but never personally explored it much.
I find it difficult to work in a limited palette of greens or whatever and still keep it interesting and varied. I painted those swirlies bluish to try to counterbalance the flower in her hair which is indeed the reason for the color reversal! I wanted to draw Zecora and when I was trying to come up with ideas, that silly suedo philosphical question "is a zebra white with black stripes or black with white stripes" stuck in my head and I had to use it.
You should draw him again! And thanks. :3

In my mind she used it inadvertantly; as a first encounter with the herb and she didn't know better, but she could have known the effects in advance and tried it anyway too!
Thanks! I'm glad you like the rings. I had my doubts about them since that residue problem is worse with lighter colors and, in attempting to fix it, the white highlights were almost completely lost. But I did put some subtle green in there too. I just couldn't photograph this one well at all and everything is blurry.
