Queen Chrysalis has been plotting and planning for a very long time, engineering a conflict between the Empire of Equestria and the gryphon clans and collaborating with the Nightmare cultists within the empire's boundaries, while her agents infiltrated the Equestrian top brass, subverting or outright replacing officers and ministers. And finally, she struck at the very heart of the Empire, launching a coup that ended in her taking Canterlot itself, with the former leader of Empress Celestia's Imperial Guard, duke Shining Armour, now serving as her own personal enforcer..
Just developing on that idea of an alternative universe Equestria that has been bouncing in my head for past few months. This picture is a part of the same set as these two: Rainbow Death, Scootalot. Thee well may be more of this soon, too. Oh, and to clarify, Shining is wearing a suit of advanced magitech powered armour, although he might have some cybernetics in him as well; and Chryssy was disguising as one of Equestrian generals, though once she revealed her true colours, her attire transformed somewhat to match that.

And yes, I am rather fond of how the armour turned out. It is worth noting that my design process for it boiled down to drawing her general structure and then flailing in panic drawing and erasing random lines until I gave up and accepted what I got as the final result. The arms, and especially the elbow joints of the armour are still atrocious and make no sense even to me.

ive been looking up 'cool futuristic armors' for the last few days- a friend of mine has actually given me my first request for art and its of a dude in armor. you reminded me of some concepts i was trying to sketch, but next up is my attempt to make an armored kilt/skirt in there somewhere... that make ANY sense to you?
I was meaning "no sense" in the way that they just looked vaguely armour-like - like a bunch of randomly shaped plates over the arm. As for an armour kilt? I don't even know. :B Though I guess a skirt of armour could serve to protect legs above the knees without having to cover them in heavy armour themselves?
