Love these little guys. They're extremely rare and are a "Once In a Blue Moon" fish. Very hard to come across. Hoping to try and breed them when they get older.

They always sell a bunch of these at the pet store here. Ever since I was a kid. Unless the one I'm thinking of looks extremely like this.

You're probably thinking of the common variety of this fish, which looks similar but is brown with greenish blotches. These guys cost about $60 each and I've only ever seen them for sale once in my 6 years of fishkeeping, and I probably never will again.

No, I'm absolutely sure they're black with tiny white spots. About an inch long when they're young and then after about a year they're closer to 1.5 or even 2?

Could've been Starlight Plecos (L183 and L181) They look pretty much identical but they're much more common.

Could be. I know they didn't have a fat white line on their fins at least. We used to have a few in our old aquarium.
