Murry giftmas, btw.
I am reminded of the old 80's hannah barbara cartoons, like Yogi and Flintstones when I see this
Hey, I got your package in the mail yesterday. Thanks a farking TON!! It saves me the hassle of bootlegging all of this on my own.
[I get tired of presumptuous people putting me onto classic rock, over and over, because of the way I dress, etc.]
First, I find an old paper texture.
Next, I take that paper texture and place it over my artwork and set the layer to 'MULTIPLY".
The border was downloaded somewhere after I did a Google search for "GRUNGE" + Textures. Frame that over your work and you've pretty much got what I got here.
Remember: Find textures, overlay textures and setting those layers to MULTIPLY. Adjust opacity for desired effect. Also: research "Grunge" design. There is much more to learn out there than what I can fit in one of these comment boxes.

Thanks for the help!
I'm happy that you dig her nose!
Also baking.
Dude, it's been such a long time! So many IRC's & image boards sprang up and closed down. It's hard to keep track of all this stuff if anyone isn't online enough to see the transitions that go on in between. [I felt seriously out of place in those environments to begin with.] I'd still be down to swing by your stomping grounds, where ever they may be. I'd love to chat and BS!
I've been SO bogged down, I only have time to come here for a brief span of time, long enough to look at some pics & comment of a few. It's kinda nice, since I don't learn about any furry drama as a casual fan. What sucks is that I don't get to see as much of the uploads as I'd like, and I don't get to draw my 'junk food' art as much as I'd want.
Well, I hope your holiday season is going well. I would love to see any new art work that you'd like to share.
Hehehe Wow! Thanks a lot Arsemaus! You've done a super job on this rendition and you did it just how you said you liked to, by not simply copying, but by adding your own touches to add a new dimension to a character!
Thank you!
Merry Christmas buddy!
This is a fantastic gift!
Season's Greetings, dude!
P.s.
merry christmas
The brow looks a little long though, but it is barely noticable. Her hair folds very nicely for the style too. :3
UPLOAD MOARS
this wins pretty damn hard man
awe-some style inDEED
I'd like to swing by sometime this week. I'll bring the nappy sack along & you're free to blaze off from what i got.
When are we going to see some more stuff, eh?
And the answer: WHenever I feel like it, bitch!
PS: I love you :o <3
I haven't finished anything in at least a year. Stuff happens.
I hope your holiday was smashing, Joey!

Hey dude, season's greetings... or what's left of it anyway!
Happy New Years!
Thanks man!
I'm glad you dig this drawing! Happy 2008 dude.
wow, nice
I had to draw a GRIP of bland headshots before this one pooped out onto the page. YAY!
Thanks for stopping by!
At times, I get into the mood for fan art that displays that artist's individuality, but still maintain the original character's identity and familiarity.
Kinda like reading familiar essay, but with a different handwriting.
You know, at some point in working this pic out, I flipped the image horizontally to check for the usual flaws and such. But this was one of those rare instances where the pic actually looked better flipped. It's such a weird phenomenon.
Thanks man.
Ivan Earl style, eh? Kick ass! Thanks!

It's been a while since I hunted for textures, and my texture librart isn't very big.
For the most part, I just go into Google's image search and type in "grunge textures" and hunt for something cool.
I've also made some myself using photos of old shop walls, rust, paper, and colorful stains, and old books. Going to a paper shop and picking up those special, hand-made papers with plants stuck in them are EXCELLENT.
for the most part, I experiment with the layer options, mostly with Multiply, Overlay, Screen. I take several images and insert layers of solid color, an do a bit of messing around, adding gradients or spots of color, or masking stuff out.
I started experimenting with textures to get an Old Paper look, but then it evolved when I learned about the Grunge world of texture. That border you see above is just 2 different textures sampled together. Nothing fancy.
But for the most part, I just rob a bunch of textures from Google and play with it.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like the mayang.com site is up anymore.
Asunder was amazing though.
I never knew it was called a "grunge texture", but dropping that into google and wow! Image search heaven. Thank you so SO much!
Sounds like what I do as well with the different layer options, and it seems like there's no one way but many, each piece of art being different in how you can do it.
Mayang was a texture site geared towards concept artists. Stuff like Sand, Bricks, and Wood .
I'm careful about that kind of journal entry I post. I'm pretty confident that most users are turned off by spammy and/or filler journal entries. I try to keep the content resource oriented.
He's got quite the appealing work.
