One for the Railway furs.
I was playing around with some of the built in effects on my D5100 over the weekend and I rather liked the built in tilt shift effect but I decided to have a go at doing te same thing in GIMP. This gave me that little bit more control and I was able to create an image I was a little bit happier with although the built in effects are OK you can only use one so you can crop or tilt-shift but not both but at least it means you can experiment with different looks in camera and maybe decide on what to do once you get the images off the camera.

Thanks :)
I'm glad you said it makes it look like a model because that's what it's supposed to look like. It's not perfect and with a lot of work I could make it better but the image it's self isn't the best example for this kind of effect. I think it helps if there are people in the frame or at least lots of small things that stand out well. The colours don't quiet pop enough. I've seen some with really intense colours which help give people the look as if they are small plastic figures.
