I figured I'd better post something or people would think I'd died, frozen to death or something. I like this one for composition and color tone. It also shows the huge difference between a digital SLR (this was taken with the Nikon) and even a high-quality regular digital.

Well these were the very first shots I did with this camera. I pretend to no knowledge whatsoever. I'm very inexperienced and so I normally just let the camera pick it's settings. All my other pics were done with me mum's Canon PowerShot (or something like that). Can't wait for the weather to clear up so I can get out there and take this puppy for a real spin, get a handle on it and all that.
Hehehehe yeah this new system in kinda weird ^^
But ok, I understand what the answers. The d70s is a awesome camera, but I can't give you advices on setting because I'm using Canon right now hehehe Sorry for that... But some global things is: the lower the ISO the lower the noise, high f-stops on the lens make more sharp pictures as well as increase the dept of field on them... But the most important thing to pay attention is the white balance setting, it can make you photo amazing or destroy it... So use custom WB every time you can, there's a lot of articles on the www about getting a right custom WB, I like the one who says to calibrate it with a A4 paper... but you can buy a gray card that works the best for getting custom measurements to WB.

Well, as I told Illiur, I'm quite inexperienced and these were almost the first pics I took with this camera. I really just need a bit of time in the field but things like actually surviving have been kinda number one on the list.
That lake is awesome for fog. That's just a light mist but I'm sure you've seen those pics where it's just well, thick as pea soup! Made for wicked pics with the beavers.
