Goin' into No Man's Land...
Christmas was real awsome this year. My parents were really thinking this year (same goes for me about them) and got me this replica World War I trench duster/knife.
These weapons were introduced to the U.S. Army at the end of the Great War, and saw little service until they were adopted as a paratrooper sidearm during the Second World War. The blade was intended for upward stabs (hence the lack of sharp edges on the replica could be somewhat realistic), and the knuckles for clobbering if things got too CQC during combat. The metal knut on the bottom was designed to pierce the helmet of the enemy soldier in the event of a trench-storming, though I believe it would take an awful lot of force... maybe I'm just a candy-ass?
Gonna display this with my collection of WWI books.
