[PLUG] George Takei to Guest Star on Dick Tracy!
Starting Sunday, January 13th!
TAKEIS TO JOIN DICK TRACY IN FIGHTING CRIME
Dick Tracy will be inviting the help of characters modeled after real-life actor George Takei and his husband Brad on his new case starting January 13.
Near Tracy's city, an old Government Resettlement camp from World War II has been covered over with a man made lake for 70 years. Located are clues to a murder cold case, and Tracy contacts one of this friends who was interned there, actor George Takei (under the name of George Tawara).
"I am boldly going where I have never gone before," said George Takei. "I am looking forward to the trek into the world of Dick Tracy."
The story should run around 8 weeks and promises to be gripping.
DICK TRACY is drawn and written by Joe Staton and Mike Curtis, with inks and color by Shelley Pleger and Shane Fisher. Sgt Jim Doherty is the team's police advisor and supplies the CRIMESTOPPERS.

Wait, they still make Dick Tracy strips?
Then again, I do remember seeing the strip in my paper in the 90's. It was a case about the son of Flattop teaming up with a guy who sported a Kid'nPlay hairdo who shot someone for their hightops....

I cannot wait! Today's strip was a good start! This will be interesting to see if George's husband and it being a homosexual male union comes into the strip. This will be the first as far as I can tell. I personally looking foward to it. There is too many lesbian unions in popular litiature, which I strongly feel it's just a fantasy aspect, done for males. (especially for the ones in power :(
