So, um...

last night I was very surprised to discover a bat flying around in my bedroom.

Yep.

At one point it landed, 'cause I guess it was tired, it gave me a good chance to take its picture.

Heh, this happened to Uncle Kage. It wasn't moving at all and he poked it a few times. Turned out it had rabies >.> Was a hilarious story though :3 he told us at Megaplex last year

and we have lots of bats here- it's actually rather fun to watch the bats fly around and eat up the mosquitoes.

well... presuming you can take the mosquitoes in order to watch them XD
