I also helped on animating the chicken's walk cycle which made me want to throw the laptop out of the window.

My school was pretty close to that, and kinda worse too. Our instructors for the first year were teachers from other departements teaching the tutorial classes because the school had yet gotten any people from the field, and thus were kinda boned if we had any questions. Man, if I am paying you money to teach me, you shouldn't tell me to 'google it', lol.
WALK CYCLES. MY FULL SYMPATHIES.
That said, This is a pretty awesome splash screen. If the game goes well, are the students at least allowed to do as they want with their creations? It seems pretty ridiculous that they're expected to magically learn everything without help, but I guess my boyfriend is (somewhat) in the same boat. He's constantly expected to program small games and such without tools to make the art side of it. He's...at least not being expected to use 3d models or do anything extremely complex, but that will likely come in the future.
(And -gulp- I'll be doing the helping, there. I already dread the rigging...)

I guess they can, but I don't think the game itself will be very outstanding XD You have to use a Kinect to flap the chicken's wings, or something. I believe the requirement was to make a (3D?) game where you control a chicken with a kinect.
And yeah... rigging... the reason it was so terrible was because neither Karpour and especially me had any clue what to do. This was the first time in my life even seeing that program, and he had to look up tutorials on youtube on how you rig something D:

Rigging is a pain. It's not very hard to get the gist of it (though I can't imagine trying to learn without tutorials!), but on many models it's an outright nightmare no matter how good you are... Low skill floor, high skill ceiling I guess? If that makes any sense.
Ah, has to work with the kinect specifically? Bit of an odd requirement, though I don't know what the class is on.

The class is virtual reality, first we had to make augmented reality stuff with markers and webcam (fun, bot the framework was horrible and literally crashed every 10 minutes).
The game has to be made using unity with some pieced-together framework for kinect and a spacemouse (6 degrees of freedom mouse usually used for 3d modeling). Using the kinect is easier than it seems as it provides very high level stuff, basically we get a skeleton and can use the positions of the joints to control stuff in the game.
It's just a bit much to expect us to make a game in 2 months in a course that is meant to be 4.5 hours per week (6ECTS) worktime.

It was actually not intended, but I noticed it too once I inked the eyebrows! Not sure what else refers to it aside from it being a pissed bird? I tried to make thick lineart because several of the games I used to play as a kid had art like that. I should check what the Angry Birds opening screen looks like!
I actually meant it because of this splash screen made by the awesome Morriperkele

It was the original splash and ran for the first few years of updates of the game. :V I take you can gather why I thought you were going for this.

3D can be a major pain. This looks really good though, I hope he posts it online.
I took a 3D course and we had to model, set up an enviroment, rig and animate a character in a month (when I'd only done a bit of modelling before). It was very hectic and it drove me a little mad at the time haha. Animating and rigging 3D i don't find so fun.. Modelling and rendering I like doing though
