My animatronic tail to my fox suits , I can pull it out to shair with more then one suit, I modified it by adding more vertebrates and extended the worm drive a bit the loading spring at the base is so kids pull on it , It wont break the cables.The T brace has a Velcro strap around it for the wast area like pants belt.The metal was hammered flat and welded and at it's base a carved aluminium hinge.The switches are in the paws and 5 lines run down to a set of relays attached to the worm drive.

We discussed animatronic tails, among other things, at FC this year in staff feed at some point. I have to say, THAT is a durable looking tail. If I'm looking at this right, the motor is actually at the end of the tail instead of the base. Also, this looks like it can go up and down, but not side to side. I'm guessing the worm drive gives it quite a bit of strength, but at the cost of movement speed. What did those springs at the base come out of though? Also, is that Loctitie I see?
