Good thing I've got my Protonic Inversal Axe which deals 137 damage to robots per hit and also stunlocks them. :D

Unfortunately the beam that changed him is a ranged weapon.

I've got T-51b Power Armor and the In Shining Armor perk. In all likelihood the beam would just bounce off me and hit one of my companions. Who, funnily enough, also wear power armor, so it might just end up bouncing straight back at the shooter in some odd twist of fate. Who knows what sort of effect a robotification beam would have on a robot. De-robot him? Do nothing? Again, who knows.

Possibly fuse the armour with the wearer.

You could do that by just welding the latches shut. :P
