I TOTALLY get the "properly done" thing. You have no idea how many people put paw pads and cat noses on rabbits around here, and it makes me insane!! Insects are particurlarly elaborate as well. I illustrated an idenfication key for a book on urban ants, and their bodies are similar to bees, as they are from the same order. :)
On a side note, I LOVE how you made your pollen collectors as a harness, and shaped the thicker hind tibia to be like a wee pair of boots! That's really innovative. :)
