Also titled, "Excuse for My Guardsman being MIA from Drekiheim"

Based on a side-story between  Koi-no-Hisoka and I with our Drekiheim characters. Tegan and Karova (finally) got married when she was 9 months into her second pregnancy. Nice little wedding at the church, got a few shinies for gifts, and lived happily ever after!

...psh, like the story's ending there. :I

Moving on, Karova went into labor while they were away from town on their honeymoon. Alviss was actually born Christmas Day, though I'm not sure that had any significant meaning in that world. A few days later, he was kidnapped by bandits - some of which were fanatics from Tegan and Karova's homeland, and were not too thrilled with "demonspawn". Still, rather than killing Alviss outright, they ransomed him. Planned on killing him AND the parents when they came to deliver. Stop the whole family tree. It was harder to get them close enough for that when the kid was a corpse.

Karova and Tegan weren't having that shit. So one bloody mess later, baby's saved, part of the result is this picture.

And there you go. :D

On another note, I find the text kind of amusing - the event is something that's going to stick with the both of them in their own ways. So makes me wonder on whose thoughts those are exactly!
