And as a mounted metallic paper print!

I was commissioned to do an event poster for Foxtrot. Only consistency in the posters was a fox, so I went with an arctic fox in its "blue phase", where the coat turns darker—often in the summer.
I started with some thumbs of dance-related imagery, but at the end of the day, just doing a cool portrait won over everything else! No complaints, here!

excellent animal, excellent light, excellent detail.
the blend of human and fox in the face is interesting. not sure if its the face and lack of mane that makes it a fox or the ear shape.... like i feel it could be a young wolf but somehow it's not and actually a fox. interesting... makes me think about it!

This#You can feel the energy in the fur! If this was a stained glass window I'd stare at it all day.
I selected the blue channel to only get the outline of a photo of a doily, then got rid of the pieces that looked too doily-like using an opacity mask, then set THAT to pin light, and then used soft/hard/linear light to colour it.
All the while I was telling myself, "Man, this would be WAY harder if I was doing it in paint," so I didn't mind the extra time!

Thanks! Did you know this is actually the old version of the art?
