This is the prologue to my first story. While the prologue itself isn't babyfur/diaperfur, Chapters 2 on will be so I apologize in advance to anyone with the wrong idea. I would love some feedback and constructive criticism please. Have a nice day. :D

December 21st, 2012. The day the world ended. That is what everyone said would happen. Boy were they wrong. Hi, I’m Alchmon, and this is the story about, well, my past. And present. And future...
Boy this is confusing isn’t it? Let me explain. And what better way than starting a story than with the end of the world.
It all started many months ago. The year was 2036, on a little planet called Earth. Back then I was a human by the name Edward Graves. I was just your ordinary 40 year old man... except for the fact I was a nuclear engineer. God, I can’t even remember what I looked like back then. I went into that field to try to save Earth. So many bad things were happening. War, increase in crime, lack of nonrenewable resources, and a raise of CO₂ in the atmosphere that was beginning to choke the plants, killing them. I believed the way of solving these problems, and more, was found inside the atom, the building block of everything. I had a dream where I could find a way to turn any element into any other, I dreamed the way to do that might be to add and subtract protons from premade atoms. If I could do that, I could save the world! Transform the excess CO₂ into food, water, the nonrenewable resources we needed. So I worked. Failed. Tried again. And kept working.
I worked at the best possible facilities, nuclear fusion and fission reactors around the world. They had a similar principle to my idea they just needed some tinkering. I found a way to shrink the size of a reactor to about the size of a doughnut, make it cooler, and work twice as fast. Even then it wasn’t good enough.
All the while I was drawing attention. My tinkering had gained the respect, fear, and watchful eyes of the people of the USA. That’s when they came.
I was in my apartment one night, the date escapes my mind at the moment, and heard a knocking on the door. Two agents from the CIA were there. They handed me a letter. It was an invitation by the secretary of defense to meet him tomorrow. I couldn’t refuse. The agents then left to tell him I would be there. I was tired, so I went to sleep.
The next day I went to him. After passing the security scanners I was directed to the meeting place. He met me in an office, but I could tell it wasn’t his. The dest was too small, there were no windows, and it was obvious by his expression he didn’t like it in there.
“Ah Edward, right on time!” said he, “I’m glad you could make it. You didn’t receive too much trouble up front I assume?”
“It wasn’t much trouble at all.” I said. “Mr. Secretary-”
“Please call me John.”
“John. I want to cut to the chase. All my upgrades to nuclear engines have gotten your attention and you want me to build you some kinda super weapon. Am I on the right track?”
“Uh, well *cough*” John said, clearly taken aback. “No. We know of your ultimate goal, trying to transform the elements. We want you to accomplish this so that we are willing to aid you by giving you a lab with everything you could possibly need. Including your own assistant.”
“Uhuh, what’s the catch?”
“No catch. To be perfectly honest your goal is something the US has been trying to do ever since the Cold War. We just haven’t gotten nearly anywhere as far as you have in the past decade.”
This all seemed too good to be true. Everything I could need to accomplish my goals, all the time in the world, and using it for what it is intended for. So I agreed, and went to work.
I met my assistant the next day. Her name is Cate. She was beautiful.
“Hello, I’m Cate” she said, “It is an honor working with the renowned scientist Edward Graves.”
“Nice to meet you Cate, lets get to work.” Those were the first words I ever said to her.
Two years passed by, in that time Cate and I had fallen in love, (maybe someday I’ll tell you about it), and we were ready for the last test, if this worked then we would forever be known as the ones who brought an end to world hunger, poverty, and global warming. We also decided that when this whole thing ended we would get married. The test was scheduled for 3 days away. We decided to rest then.
48 hours remained, and I decided to go talk to John, to tell him the good news. There weren’t any guards around, but I was in such high spirits I didn’t realize until now. I arrived at his office and heard him talking. It would have been rude to interrupt so I couldn’t help but overhear the conversation.
“I’m telling you Mr. President,” Said John, “That new superweapon is as good as ours!”
Superweapon?! So it was all a trick to create a new superweapon! The limits of my device are only that of it’s user’s imagination. No joke, I had just installed the cerebral connection chip so that it worked only when the user thought of something for it to do. Using it as a superweapon would be cataclysmic. I tried to sneak away quietly, but just as I rounded a corner, I heard John step into the hall. I then slipped into the bathroom, and he must have given up, because I returned to my lab without any further prosecution. Once there I knew what I had to do. I began destroying all my documents. Me and Cate were the only ones who ever saw them, there were no cameras in my lab.
Cate rushed into the lab and asked me what I was doing. I told her the bitter truth.
“What are we going to do?” she said.
“Simple. They want a weapon, we will give them one. We can run the final test. It will be successful, and we can use it to escape, we can spend the rest of our lives together away from here protecting this gift from the corrupt governments.”
“We will be running from the entire world! Its not possible!”
“We won’t be running from the entire world, we will have each other. We may not be able to stay in one place for long, but we can protect this from falling in the wrong hands. If you do not wish to join me then you may stay behind, but I cannot allow this to fall into the wrong hands.”
“I will go wherever you go my love. I will be with you forever.”
“Then, the day after tomorrow, we run from the grasp of Hell itself!”
We destroyed all the documents, making my prototype the only record of its existence and creation process. Time passed and no one noticed any difference in Cate or I.
The day of the test had arrived, and we proceed to the test chamber. John, several military officials, and even the president himself were there in the viewing chamber, ready to watch their new weapon in action. Cate assisted me with getting it on. The design was simple. A large gauntlet on the left hand, with the fusion/fission reactor on the back that, not only powered the device, it also was what allowed it to function. She then stood back and I began.
I grabbed a block of pure iron, and fused it into ½ the amount of it in gold. Everyone was amazed. Myself included. I then took the gold and thought of a shovel. It became a shovel. I then took the shovel to the ground and thought of a spike. The shovel disappeared and a spike of solid rock appeared. I grabbed the spike and thought of air. It disappeared. I could hear clapping coming from the view room.
The door then opened and three soldiers appeared, pointing their guns at me, demanding I drop the device. I got on my knees, set the device on the floor and pretended to undo it. While doing so I was turning some of the air around their guns into sand, clogging them up and rendering them ineffective. It was then that things got weird. First, I stood up with it still on, and after they tried shooting their guns a couple times to no avail, Cate and I knocked them out. I then turned to John and raised my gauntlet.
“You wanted a superweapon did you not?” Said I, “There is another feature of this device. It can use a part of its stored energy to fire a bolt of electricity at whatever is in front of it. Strong enough to pierce that flimsy wall.”
And so I thought of lightning. But...
Instead of a lightning bolt I first heard a gunshot. Cate fell over in a pile. Dead. Next I felt warmth at my hand. I looked at the device, it was fading. So was the ground, the walls, and Cate, and John, and I. Everything began to fade.
Next thing I knew, everything was white. I did see some streaks of grey every once in awhile kinda swirling around. I began to wonder what went wrong. Then it hit me. The energy must have been so much, it went supernova, resulting in me creating a black hole. The energy feature’s intensity was based on emotion. My shear hate and anger must have created the black hole. And so I fell. I fell and fell, not knowing where I would land, all this time I thought of nothing but this.
I am the man who destroyed the Earth.
Where was I going? What would happen? What would become of me? I don’t know. Am I stuck here in purgatory forever? A punishment for my crime? What about Cate? Did she really die? Or is she falling here with me? And one last question. Who are you?
