I've thought Rip was a wonderful character of Norithics 's for years, and Mew is adorable too. But when Nori encouraged me to make an inflatable rubber sex-toy pokegirl of my own I kind of wanted to take things in a different direction. Mew is a total airhead, and I wanted to do just the opposite. Scarlet may be a sex toy but that doesn't mean she has to act that way. So my idea was that in the Nori-verse she's a "failed" golem in that she actually does say no and is much more useful in keeping his paperwork and finances in check. She's the really good secretary, the Pepper Potts, though if she had hair she probably wouldn't wear it up in chopsticks out of risk of popping herself. I think she's the only one that wears clothes to begin with. And she totally doesn't need glasses, they're just to make her look smarter.

All of that said, she is still inflatable (and has clothes to pop out of). And, well, she's not made out of stone... >.>

So why a Ledian? I think bugs are neat! And their general shape and shininess (not that I portrayed that here) makes them work well with rubber. Ladybugs in general are cute, and the extra arms are neat. The name Scarlet comes from the Latin word for ladybug, so I thought it worked for her.
