So, though I never intended too, I've broken someone's heart. Even worse, a friends heart, someone I genuinely like - at least, like as just a friend. Fucking hell. I feel like utter shit, and just wanna hit something. What the fuck is wrong with me? Why can't I control my natural, easy affection for friends? This always fucking HAPPENS. AHHH. And I was so happy too, this is really messin with my head.

This is a very well drawn picture, but you probably don't want to hear that right now.
:< Hun, you can't control who you like and who you don't like. If you only like them as a friend, and they like you as something more, they're going to have to get over it. It's this person's infatuation, not yours. And it's not your fault if you don't like them back...
This sort of thing happens all the time, please don't take it too seriously. :< If you need me you can call me, I'll note you with my celly number.
I hope to talk to you soon and I hope you feel better.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. For any advice I'd need to know more but then advice from some miscellaneous person on the Internet doesn't help much usually.
Still, being a kind, affectionate friend is not a Bad Thing, it's a Good Thing, and it's a shame that not everyone can tell the difference between friendship and something more. While I can't say I know how you feel (after all, everyone's emotions are their own) I can say that I, too, have unintentionally broken people's hearts before. It blows, but consider that it was unintentional and most likely the result of said person not trying to be clear enough with you.
Doesn't "cure" it, but it helps some.

*Embraces softly & cradles in my arms* There are times when things can get over another's head and things can be taken in a fashion that it is not meant to be. If you are naturally affectionate, that's ok. It's normal for you and you can't help but be the way that makes you feel content about yourself. There are people that generally don't get that a person is one way because that's their comfort zone, which is something all need to understand that everyone has their ideal form of a comfort zone when it comes to persona being and that it won't change unless it's for their own benefit and not another's.
Be content as you are and let none divert your choice of being, for you will have no peace of mind any other way.
