Thank god they're thin on the underside, it would make pasting a little problematic and not too effective if they weren't.

Case in point, my great-aunt owned a passel of Shih Zhus.

Seriously, yeah, one can see the practicality! Fades was noting that hyenas in general can be pretty threadbare. But it really seems to vary, some are as fluffy as a stuffed animal. Could be individual to individual, could be age?

Also, when I was watching the 'lions vs' hyenas' video I think I saw a few fighty hyenas running around with the pastey gland exposed. Maybe it's a 'BITE ME AND YOU MIGHT GET A MOUTHFUL OF THIS NASTY SH*T'. :)

And yeah, as much as I love hyenas I must admit, there really are huge differences in comparative fluffiness. Some of them look downright mummified :C
