It's actually very interesting to think that a public bench lasted that long in that world.
A place to stick your feet up and relax might be hard thing to find unless your next to a big enough rock or a pile of rubble.
I'd think a public item, for public use would be a popular thing there. Doesn't hurt having an attractive lady sitting on it.
