... well, no, I couldn't think of a title.
Another colour-job of one of
Grisser's old drawings.
I hope everyone had/ is having nice holidays - Enjoy! :)

Well, given that I only did part of the artwork, and since the character isn't mine, either, I don't think I could sell prints of this, even if I wanted to.
I suppose nobody would mind if you just make a print of it yourself, though, if you have the means of doing so. Glad you enjoy it, in any case!

I like the blue-yellow color scheme :) Also the little details in the overall "armor" design are really cool. At least I rarely find interesting looking outfits in cg-art nowdays because most stuff ( in high-fantasy ) is so overdone and I rarely take even a second look. This is somehow different tho. It makes me want to study it and find what's so different about this one. I'm betting it's that blue-yellow -combo.
Save and fav anyway :)

Yeah, I like how the colour palette worked out. Originally the various shades of blue were far too overpowering, so I added in some touches of warmer tones, here and there, in particular his feather wings, and it really helped the overall effect of the painting.
And I suppose the credit for the character design/ outfit goes primarily to the artists at Square. I think I can see what you're saying about fantasy characters in general, though. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback - Glad you like it!

Damn wonderful coloring job... I really do enjoy the color scheme used albeit that's already been commented upon but still that's a testament to the artist's work your coloring and the color adds its own character.... very well done.... I need to try experimenting with coloring some more...
>i was wondering how you make the wood with those brush strokes?
I guess you've already answered your own question... It's just a lot of brushstrokes, with a simple round brush. No fancy custom brushes, textures or anything like that.
It helps to look at some reference pictures of real wood, to get the tones and textures right.
>Just imagine the picture snowing ^_^ animation.
If this was animated, I know I, like most people, wouldn't be focusing on the snow... ;3

Thanks! I like how those wings/ feathers worked out, myself. And they're pretty essential to the overall effect of the painting. Before I added in the wings, as well as some other spots of warm tones, the picture looked far too "cold" and monochromatic. Those contrasting warmer tones really helped.
And yes, blue kitties are pretty awesome. <3

I always kind of love/hate it when I come back after a couple of weeks and sift through everyone's folders to see what they've been up to, discovering completely unexpected delights such as THIS.
On the other hand, that puts my comment way down here at the bottom, which would bring my status as an adherent, if not zealous Ronso-fan into question.
In the latest chapter that I've been agonizing over for the last few months, I have a few paragraphs where I go on about the natural beauty and majesty that is Kimahri's appearance. It wasn't a difficult thing to imagine, but to transcribe it to words, much less art, was a challenge I would have defined as truly formidable. Grant you, I was actually placing him on a sunset tropical setting, and this, while almost completely the opposite, radiates of that same kind of absolute resplendence and lustre that I was shooting for... if not moreso. The winter-setting may actually be a better one for him to backdrop against, given that its his natural habitat.
And that frost caked on his muzzle is just too goddam adorable.
This is fuckin' inspirational.

Originally, I considered placing him in a warmer, more colourful setting, but then I noticed that I've done that for all of my past Kimahri fanart, and went for this instead. But I agree, he'd probably feel right at home amongst all the snow and ice. Thanks once again for the elaborate feedback - Glad you enjoyed this! :)
