Species Info:

Meikoni are a species of music demons that are born from songs in our world. Whenever music is played, a meikoni is created.

*Only live performances count; playing recorded music does not create them.
*They are formed when the song begins, and finish at its planned end; if it is interrupted, the music demon is born with disabilities/flaws; they are incomplete, especially at the extremities. (like the male’s left horn)
*Meikoni born from similar songs in a similar period of time, the above, are considered sibilings.
*Unless there are vocals in their song, the music demon is mute. Most mute music demons wear masks or otherwise cover their mouths, like the male.
*They do not inherit the vocalist/musician’s voice/personality.
*There is no ‘average’ lifespan for meikoni. They are powered by a metronome in the right of their chest, which dictates how long they live; they die when it stops. Its speed is not a factor, although it may slow down when it is close to the end of its life. A hole in the metronome, although usually a fatal defect, can have a key inserted in to 'rewind it.' It has the potential for immortality, but only occurs in flawed meikoni.
*There is a black ‘birthmark’ over the metronome.
*Male horns are longer and thinner.
*Skin tone can be any colour.
*They cannot reproduce.
