For those of my watchers who fear I will never draw my characters again like Rosemary I offer this as proof that your fears are misplaced.
This will be in the art show at Further Confusion. It is also the reason why I did some study sketches of Boys anti-tank rifles a while ago. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6965088/ The funny thing is just like the Barret M82 http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1046692/ it is about as long as Rosemary is tall. If don't include her hair or the high heels. It is done in my usual colored pencil, marker, gouache and technical pen.

Glee - boys AT. A friend has one. I've fired it - an experience i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It had a kick on it like an enraged brontothere!

Have you found it to be a beast to shoot? I wonder since I have heard other people talk about shooting .50BMG bolt rifles and not complaining about the recoil that much. Or was the .55 Boys that much more powerful of a cartridge? My final wondering about the recoil stories is whether the complaints about recoil were due to people who were not use to firearms, being recruits or draftees, getting overwhelmed by it.
It has a stiffer recoil in 50bmg. It is unpleasant to shoot, loud as hell and showers the shooter with dirt from the primative muzzle brake, however, it is fun in a sadistic sort of way.
They were notoriously unpopular rifles, one English troopie said it felt like being hit with a pipe attatched to a board when firing it. He was correct!

Okay so it really does have a stout recoil to it. I was wondering whether it was like the Colt 1911a1 which before I got a chance to fire one I had been left with the impression was a beast of pistol to shoot. When the day came I found it to be quite manageable. Later I found out that in the classic one hand duelist stance which was how many people use to shoot it got more exciting. I had immediately used a two combat isosceles stance which took care of much of the problem.
Knew what the gun was as soon as I saw it. Almost bought one when I was a kid. It was at a gun shop for a long time near my house.($350) Wish I had got it.
This is another piece I would battle for if I could make it to FC this year. Hey, why don't you bring it to AC instead? :D

I have always found Japanese WWII machine guns to have this rather cool alien/ Flash Gordon quality to them. Especially models like the Type-11 with the offset stock and clip/ magazine hopper feed system. Also the Type-97 tank machine gun and the Type-97 Anti-tank rifle have retro alien cool look to them. Would love to find more good solid info Japanese submachine guns from this period but the pickings are pretty thin.
I always liked the type 11 sub machine gun..it was like a tube of death,in call of duty world at war,I always was bad ass with the Arisaka bolt action rifle..and plus,I liked how it was the only machine gun that had a bayonet on it.so it could rip through enemies and cut them..it stab.still a formidable gun..but I also liked the mg42..or 34,hitlers chainsaw it was called..the dp-28 as well..had a barrel drum ammo cartridge on top.russian made

Nope. It is not criminal to have an interest it the subject, and if ever does it will a sad, sad for everyone. Not just gun owners since it will mean that something more profound than gun control has happened. We will have let our freedom to express, think, reason, fear, dream, wonder, and ask why be taken from us, and that is a far more terrifying thing than magazine restrictions or assault weapons bans.
