Yes indeed there are. Most all of the current Russian weapons have the same control scheme as the AK47. Current standard issue is the AK74, chambered in 5.45x39, the Russian counter to the US and NATO going to the smaller 5.56 round. They are fielding an interesting assortment of trial weapons as well, I dont think the AN94 is still in the running though, as its complex to build and expensive, two things that Russians have never liked when it comes to weaponry. Theres a small portion of them fielded currently though, so who knows?
It's a byproduct of sorts, it was created by a guy named Gennadiy Nikonov, it's a pretty impressive weapon, designed to not even kick until both rounds have left the barrel when it bursts. It's main focus is to punch through body armor, since both rounds will almost always slam straight into the target very close together. This sucker is evil, but it's also pretty complex and expensive, so it's only in use with special forces at the moment.
Try out the VAL for anti sniper work. On Sharqi_Peninsula we got pushed back to the last set of COMM stations after a hell of a long fight. Using the Kobra sight I pegged a sniper up on the far left back crane using the Val. Not easy but the thing shoots so straight and in semi auto the shot spread is almost zero. That match I went something like 75 and 20 using it the whole time.

I find this to be an incredibly effective anti-sniper weapon without even needing a scope, mainly because of the crazy accuracy and the fact that so many snipers are just too stupid to give up the fight to get a shot off and end up getting picked off by me at range. Hell just yesterday I ran 33 and 8 with this weapon, it fits a primarily defensive playstyle, but I've used it plenty of times a bit more aggressively. If you're fast enough, you can compete with PDW's at medium range, but when all else fails, I end up relying on my Glock to finish baddies off
