This is my new little betta buddy, Pi. His colors reminded me of the blues and greens in the jellyfish/whale scene in Life of Pi, hence his name. I love him. X3

What would you recommend as a good betta food? I bought him the Omega One Betta Buffet, but he seems like he's not eating them. I don't know if it's the food or if he'd prefer something else. Or should I stop at the pet store and ask an employee what food they've been feeding them?
My betta did the same with me when I first got him. He was used to eating the pellets they fed them at the store and sometimes stole food from my apple snail. Eventually he started to take the omega one flakes, it took awhile though :3 it sounds like your wanting to do the best for him.
Betta pickiness is a typical thing. After I get a betta they tend not to eat or eat very little for a few days. In all honesty, bettas would much rather have live or even frozen foods like cleaned brine shrimp, blood worms and tubaflex worms. When I get a newbi, I melt a blood worm cube and feed my betta a few worms a day and alternate between worms and pellets. The brand you have is fine, bettas are just picky eaters ^^
I could tell ^^ double tails, to me, are the best shape of tail. Though, I am dying to get a hold of a spade tail! My double tail is blue as well with very light hints of green. My prize betta, I named him Spike :p, is a half moon betta that is all red with a red body and silver fins ^^
oo, those are lovely, i had a double tailed halfmoon. They seem to have a swim bladder issue though if they get over fed. http://www.bettafish.com/
Sooooo, I just wanted to add this, seeing how this is like the first pic conversation I've ever had on FA. But anyways, all this talk of bettas had me thinking of the kinds of bettas I might look to buy in the future. I really want a spade tail of any color, a green betta and an orange betta of any tail shape.
Then my mate wanted me to come with him to petsmart to get dog food and I stopped and looked at the bettas. Then there he was, an orange and black veil tail male betta. I got him, and now he needs a name ^^
