This depiction is really exquisite. So impressionistic, the deer seems almost like one of the trees herself, almost melded into the background with the different shadings of her body. And yet the swoop and color of her back gives her a kind of reposed energy, almost sensual in its calmness. The trees have such depth, almost other-worldly. Makes me miss Maine...
