I've been smashing ideas in my head and against my sketchbook for a while now, and finally decided to take a bit after my last image and finally get her a ref sheet. It's fairly basic, but I wanted it to be relatively easy to pick at.
I've changed her face a bit and made her into a Great Horned Owl rather than the mix of owlness she was before. I'm happier to have it this way.
Her ear tuffs are proper now, and her face is a bit rounder with the facial disc. The disc on an owl is used to transfer sound to their ears to give them exceptional hearing, though mines pretty bad and I miss hear MANY things. Calls for awkward conversations, or funny ones - either way!
Her pink gem is still there, though normally hidden by her scarf - I wanted to do some images of her without them for reference to what her body looks like under it.
Her tail has gone to a normal birds tail for balance and waffing it about.
Also, she apparently can get angry. The addition to the connecting eyebrow tuff things mean though she has a VERY tiny beak, she can still get emotions across fairly easily, which makes for a better character design in my mind. T^T So much easier to draw her now, too!
I picture her as a little sack of rice - with wings.. and talons... and a beak. T^T
Excuse the Reptar. It came about in stream. Oh, she likes seafood. Apparently.
