I've done a lotta fursuits, that can be seen on my site, but I rarely post 'em in my galleries just cause there'd be too many here and I wanna showcase my drawings.
However, this is one I enjoy, basically because.. well.. it's mine. This was a few day throw together that turned out pretty well in my opinion. Karskit of the Bloodpaw Clan, a lowly Skaven Clanrat, though he's more a diplomat, as he's a huge coward. He's my character in a local LARP (Live action Role Play) group.
Excluding the gauntlets, rubber feet and the black brigadine chest armor, I made EVERYTHING. That means the head, armor, clothes, weaved the chain, and even made the weapons and shield. The spear is a prop, but the two swords, dagger on his belt and shield is all 'boffer safe' and made of foam and Duct Tape. Yeah.. the group doesn't allow latex weapons, but I'll still try and make em not look stupid!
And yes, that is a little bottle of warpstone on his belt.
Told you I love Skaven! Do I get more nerd points?

Well it was halloween, but he LOVED us. I went with a couple other friends who I halped make costumes too. A dwarf and Death Korps of Krieg guy. He was so excited and gave us all free stuff, took our pics and supposedly sent them to White Dwarf to try and get us in it.
Every nice fursuit there. If you don't mind me askin', which LARP is your local one? The closest one where I live is Amtgard. A few friends and I play it once in awhile still, just without any garb now. (We also have no garb because we have no money for materials too, our old ones got torn to shreds from being rough in'em. xD)
Amtgard's full of both stickjocks and people who actually RP too. It also doesn't have set races, just set classes, which are rather easy to learn. The combat's rather basic and fast paced so to last long you gotta be really athletic and know a small bit of some form of martial-arts or be a naturally good fighter.
Certainly do! My info and other examples are at: http://jax.critter.net
I'm catching up on commissions right now, so I'm closed for new ones, but I can give estimates and chat business no prob. Generally my full suits run $900-$1000, a little more if they are very involved.

Hm, a few names I can think of that rock the realistic, non cutsey stuff would be: ArtDecade(MONSTERS!), Primal Visions, Lion of the sun(their suits give you night vision and enhanced hearing. No joke.) and Beetlecat Productions... I suggest lookin' em up if you want to see some sweet suits.
I'm not into that sorta stuff, but I have to admit that's one of the better fursuits I've ever seen. xD Maybe because it's not meant to look cute, or whatever. Real well made. The weapons and shield too. Though all I have to compare those to are the ones my brother and his friends made, heh heh.
As to the above discussion....
But short costumers are fun and oh so adorable Jax. ;3
As for the image itself.....
The suit itself looks great Jax. My fav shot is deffinetly the one in the centre. Shows off the most, and it just looks so darn cuuuuuute. <3 Did I ever mention I've got a thing for 'bad guys'? XD

Its a chain of gaming stores that specialize in Warhammer and Warhammer 40K, as well as Warmachine and other tabletop games. The shelving in the back and the set up looks near identical to one I go to quite often. Was just wondering.
So what 40K army are you into the most? For some reason I'm thinking of Slaanesh...

Grey Knights for 40K. I've never played fantasy, but I like painting Lizardmen. Chaos also interests me for some of its more detailed models. I'm more of an artist than an actual player, but I try. It is so very satisfying to see the look on a Tau player's face when you teleport four squads of Grey Knights directly behind his main fire line...
Weeeeeee, so many comments! LOVE your costume :) I'm a LARP palyer too, but I've been playing elf and a bard lately. I'd love to paly a werewolf or some other wolf-guy sometimes, but I'm not.. hmm.. wolfish enough on a LARP, I don'T know why.
A Warhammer LARP would be very cool.... but very difficult to handle. We have some LARPS with 2000 people in Germany though, so it would be possible to fight a nice battle :)
I wonder why they don'T allow Latex weapons... they're basically the only kind of weapons used in german LARPs. We'Re using the duct tape version manely for training or Jugger.

They have been trying to push them in the game, but there's a few issues. They seem to think they are more dangerous then the current weapons, which have a really high restriction on how they have to be made. I personally think latex ones are safer, and look a heck of a lot better myself. I own a latex sword and love it.
Also: Latex weapons are very pricey and hard to aquire here in the States. There are a few merchants online, but you're looking at about $50-80 for a basic sword compared to the few bucks it costs to make a duct tape, insulation foam and PVC pipe one. And a lot of the players in the group seem too cheap to even get decent garb.

You can make Latex Swords yourself as well... the only real difference is you use Latex liquid instead of duct tape. The latex is usually available with LARP suppliers as well.
Tips on doing the Latex cover:
- Paint it very thin, but do several coatings. I use about 5 coatings without color, and then 3 coatings mixed color and latex. Let the Latex dry completely before applying the next layer.
- Prepare for loosing several brushes. Clean brushes immediately after painting under running cold water.
- Use water-based, acrylic color for mixing (can be bought in evry home improvement shop)
- Be careful with metallic colors: Some of them can cause so called "latex cancer" wich can dissolve the latex over time and spread over to other latex weapons. There are special colors you can use, or you will have to experiment. ("Latex Cancer" does not harm humans, only Latex ;) )
- Don't do it in your living room because it's stinky like hell. The solution is based on ammoniac :)
- You can't get latex out of clothes, but it's easy to get it off your skin - if it's hairless ;)
- Latex leaves ornaments on the weapon visible. That also means it leaves bumps and dents and so on visible :)
Hope that helps. Though I'm sure all the kinky furs out there know how to treat latex solutions *snickers*
Oh and.. HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

Oh, I know how to work with latex, but I think you need a certain type of closed cell foam which is hard to find here, as well as fiberglass rods which are much pricier then PVC.
That, and there's rediculious design rules involved in this group. Can't make nice, flat blades or crosshilts with edges anything.

Ge'faphles! *Flails at that* Dude, thats amazing! :D
If I ever saw that at a Larp, I dun think I could resist glomping it x3
Also rawk on the skaven~ Heh.. Been thinking of getting them myself- but I need'a least get more for my Nids first and finish that up.
-Again, truly amazing work on the suit. 'Specially how the eyes glow, thats just the cake topper to its awsomesause.

I'm extremely impressed. I'm starting to play and I love the concept of the Skaven. I play in that manner of throw expendibles at the enemy and then blow everything up. However, this....this is spectacular. I have to ask a question: how did you do those eyes? Those are awesome! I want those that almost murderous blood red slight glow. I love it. Very cool.
GLORY TO THE HORNED RAT!!!
GLORY TO THE HORNED RAT!!!
Must say, especially as a Skaven player myself, friggin' awesome! :D I could only imagine what a plague monk or grey seer might look like, heh. Just be sure not to roll a 1 with that warpstsone, though.
Now go forth, make them die die, and cruummmmmble their walls to dust dust! Yes yes!
