A little more than slightly! I would have to say this looks a lot better! While you're using effects like subsurface scattering, you can create phenomenal pictures using frames from animations with motion blur turned on. I like to use it because it gives a dynamic effect with out all of the post production. Nice job adding the character, but seeing how this is a meme, maybe it was already there?

the sub surface scattering is meant to make it more realistic looking because light does not always reflect off the surface of an object. the character should actually on the layer behind the rendered pic and i cant do a shadow for the skittle thing.

Yeah, I took another look at both and realized how much this helps. I haven't played around with fur settings that much, but you're making blender look pretty good with renders like these. People always underestimate open source.

This is a bit (a.k.a a ton) off topic, but my friend just made a pirate ship in Blender for his girlfriend/ Pirates of the Carribean fangirl. I guess he wants me to find a dramatic angle to render it at, but he forgot to include the textures and water! I hate using water settings and I don't want to retexture it for him, but I guess I can at least make him some water and send it back. Or maybe alter it a bit, retexture it, detail it, and sneakily put it on my FA. (I'm too lazy to model things like that!) xD Anyway, I'm just being random today, it seems. xD Maybe I should stop writing before I hurt someone. lol
