Usually my character has a mate when I actually have a boyfriend. I'm not having much luck lately, so I decided to just make one up and I made a doozy. My first thought was to make him a sphinx of course, but my instinct drew back to manticore for some reason (maybe she has scorpion fever). This guy is pretty cool. I gave him horns because in more modern depictions, manticores can adorn horns (say that three times fast). He's a North American Luminescent Manticore. I got the idea of making his horns and tail glow from how some scoprions glow under ultra-violet light. My idea was to make the tip of his tail and his horns to glow in moonlight. It's supposed to function as a means to intimidate and attract a mate.

The North American Luminescent Manticore has deadly venom which their species is immune to. It's a neurological toxin that can kill a creature of their size in about an hour if a typical amount of venom is injected. They can carefully control the amount of venom they inject and usually use it for protection.

The cool part about these guys is that a very small amount that is injected in another species aside of their own can cause intense euphoria including releases in dopamine and oxytocin. So, I couldn't help it. He does this with Zaza and it intensifies their mating rituals which, because of her occupation as a priestess, becomes quite spiritual. The time I spent with one of my Ex's doing E were really great. It wasn't really the physical part, but rather the emotional part. We would have heart to hearts and it was really nice.

I'll be honest, I miss doing drugs. Kind of messed up I guess.

His name is an anagram for oxytocin. She calls him Cy (Sy) or Cyin (Syin).
