Back Yard Moon

This shot was taken tonight from my backyard. Still need to make some changes to lock down the camera and try a different shutter speed. Would love to work on getting one of those shots you see people get that is sharp as a tack. Will try again soon with a remote shutter. Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

I'd recommend F9.. That's usually where lenses get sharpest, then drop the ISO to 100, and shutter speed to 1/75. ISO Drop will make for better dynamic range, and 1/75 second is still fast enough to avoid blur caused by the earth well...moving.

Still a really nice shot, goes to show that the Bigma has remarkable CA resistance.(Albeit I do see some minor cyan fringing at the 8 o' clock position.)

Also - Greyscaling it might fix any chromatic aberrations, as they'll be much harder to detect.

I agree with above comments, a tripod, slower shutter and a much lower ISO should really help. Might want to check your model of camera as well, some have a delayed shutter setting built into them.
