Deborah got a new dress, probably from her big cousin Fiachra who has been buying all sorts of girls' clothes lately, and she just had to run show her mother how good she looked in it. For her part, Megan couldn't help but smile at her daughter's enthusiasm. After all, it's clear whose child Deborah is!

Oh, I gotcha. I thought you were asking if she was Megan's kid or Fiachra's. Sorry about that. I'm kind of dense sometimes.
Deborah doesn't have a father. She's entirely Megan's child alone. Unlike most of my characters, Deborah was inspired by events in my real life. There was a time, almost half my life ago, when I thought I might have children and when that might actually have been possible, and so I gave Megan' a daughter because it's fun to imagine what that might have been like. But I didn't want to create a father character for her, because I wanted Megan's relationship with her daughter to be an entirely happy one and because I couldn't really use a father for Deborah anyway, given that I'm dating Eliki. So she's just Megan's.

Isn't it, though? Kyralie really captured a wonderful moment here, and I love how delighted Deborah looks with her new dress. And of course Megan is just as proud of her daughter as she can be, and I think that really shows through very nicely here. I'm particularly delighted with this picture, because when I bought it and the other little picture that Kyralie did for me, I had only intended for her to draw Megan. But as I gave her the picture that Iko drew of Megan and Deborah as a ref, she offered to draw one picture of the two of them together, which was very sweet of her. So she really went out of her way for me here!
