Probably a lot cheaper down South. Up here in Alaska it's like 40 to 42 bucks, if memory serves right; I'd call it closer to top shelf than anything else. I highly recommend pairing it with ginger ale; it's like a rum 'n coke got into a fight and then made up and grew old together into a loving couple.
Well, depends on the type of poison.
I'm not a big bourbon drinker, but Knob Creek for drinking straight and Turkey 101 for mixing.
I more typically drink Jack Daniels or Jameson, but lately I've been into Rye. Haven't decided on a go to brand though, as it's a bit expensive and the selection around here sucks on account of the limited variety at ABC stores.

That's next on my list to try. I flipped a coin over that or 10 Cane and ended up with 10 Cane this time.
I actually ended up buying a bottle of Michter's bourbon instead of the Basil's; they're both excellent, not sure which one I prefer. My bar is getting out of hand. >>;
