I've FINALLY gotten off my ass and finished this thing just in time for FWA in February... and to fulfill the requirements of others for their halves of trades and the like.
I've tried to include as much information as possible here, though it may very well be useful to refer back to the quad reference to clarify things if necessary. As always, I've saved the original file, so please let me know if there's anything I need to edit to make this more useful as a reference.
Lineart partially referenced from a line-art commission by Quaylak from FWA '07, but entirely redrawn and altered in order to best showcase my mare. The line art was referenced with permission.

They're sort of inspired by the tail of a peacock, drawing from the emeralds, greens, and blues in the uppermost eyes of their feathers. I went with the very pale cremello for her body because I love using realistic horse colors (her markings are actually tattoos given to her by her fellow tribeswomen) whenever I can get away with it... and because I'm shamefully pale myself.
I would, but wild colors like that take LOTS of maintenence... and I'm kind of afraid of hair color. My roomie talked me into dying my hair red last semester and I nearly flipped out the next morning when I looked in the mirror and it wasn't my regular brown. Needless to say, I've got a hair appointment later this week to restore my hair to its natural color and cut off as much of the red as possible. XD -pansy-
ahh to bad i think youd look good with red hair *huggles* and dreams hair is really sweet, always loved and admired it. if ya wana talk about dyeing hair talk to my sister. ya i dont even know what her natural color is unless i look at her eye brows which im surprsies she hasnt dyed. ya never dye your hair green, looks like someone puked in your hair after a week. huggles
Aww, thanks. I'm playing with a few redesign ideas in my mind... you know, just to make things easier for other people to work with and for me to finish up my fursuit (that is, assuming I ever get the time to actually dedicate several days to working on nothing but that!)
Aww, thank you so much! I'm really satisfied with her design and I have the genius of 
quaylak to thank for some of that. She's currently undergoing another revision in that I've got a better reference sheet in the works that does not include her thigh markings, but will showcase a lovely new back design. I'm just trying to make it a bit easier on myself so that I'm not constantly referring to the character sheets just to draw my own character. XD
