Nottingham's lions are a local landmark and common meeting point. The lions flank the entrance to the council house from the old market square.
This was shot at a Nottingham meet a few months back after a few of us headed off to wander around the markets or go into a few nearby shops and we met back up at the lion.
I've had my fair share of adventures by this very lion and for me it's just as much a symbol of home as Robin Hood, Nottingham castle or the Major Oak.
Shot on my old Vivitar V3000s 35mm SLR with 50mm prime lens on Ilford black and white film. I had a lot of fun shooting with my old SLR and it's what prompted me to upgrade to a DSLR. I've got a spare roll of film so I might just take this along to a meet some time soon and see if I can have some more fun with it
