Antar sat up in his bed. He hadn’t managed to fall asleep yet, even though the hours were already in the early mornings.
He turned his head to look over to the beautiful creature he had shared his bed with for the last weeks, namely Starling, who was contently sleeping, the thick blanket covering her rising and falling with the silent breath that streamed from her mouth and nose.
He silently eyed the beautiful soft fur on her shoulders where he usually dug in his nose for sleep, but dreams hadn’t caught him tonight, his head too thick with thoughts and questions.
What was it that attracted him so much to her? Was it her alien nature, her naivety...or simply her body?
No, it couldn’t have been just that, he felt too different about her to just considder her a beauty of nights. But then what, he just couldn’t understand.
He sighed silently into his arm, keeping his eyes on the woman next to him. Maybe it was best for him not to know anyway. But would she understand, would she comprehend where his feelings had gone, what she meant to him? Would she understand what love meant?
His eyes stayed on her for a moment longer, then closed. He did what he could to shove those thoughts aside and carefully placed an arm around her middle, resting his muzzle against her neck and pulling the blanket a little higher. Right now it shouldn't matter...
Something I worked on for quite a few hours and which I'm extremely proud of...because it has two characters in it, without lines, that actually look good 8D
Anyway, again based on the RP. Antar's been starting to feel far more towards Starling than just the curiosity that had brought them together in the first place. Let's see where things go...

Hmm.. does it mean her species does not have the concept of love? that it is all instinctive? like 'Oh, suitable male for breeding!' and after the deed then they each go their own way?
And this part: "..the beautiful creature he had shared his bed with for the last weeks.." makes me think that away from her world and society she is learning and experiencing new things with Antar.
But, if she has been with him for weeks now and did not leave in the first days, then i am sure she is feeling something more deep for him now and he should not be too worried about it.
Would like to know more of her story and species. And a pic or two about her trying to explain these new feeling she has and of him trying to explain then.. or of him confessing his love for her and her trying to understand that.
Nice mood image man. It is good to see this kind of art, characters with their worries and joys, different from the overly sexual ones.

Well...huh...Starlings situation is sort of hard to describe. You have to think of Starling as something between Tarzan and an innocent child. She's a hybrid between a civilized being and an instinctive/primitive dragon race called Coipra (they're essentially about as wild as lions, foxes or coyotes, so they really are wild creatures, not advanced in any way whatsoever)
Starling decided to stick with Antar through a longer story and is now learning how the civilized world works, but there's lots of things to learn about and emotions are a difficult thing to learn and understand, much more to explain, so...yah
There might be a scene where they talk about things at some point, but the RP hasn't gone that far, so I wont take away story pointers...
