Jan 23 2013 - Third night of Aerial Silks:
Tonight I learned to bite the pillow, embrace the burn, and how to get into the second pose of the Rebecca Splits. Lord, the torturous things I do to feel beautiful!
I just wanted to post a picture of my progress in aerial silks. After three weeks, I learned the four rudimentary movements that take me off the floor and into this position :D
PS. Since this is a pretty lousy photo, I'm probably gonna move this to my scraps shortly...

you're absolutely right: you do climb the silks. But since this move involves both strands of silks, you have to execute a series of movements to get into that position: locking a foot into position, holding yourself in place with your free foot on your thigh as you wrap the other silk around your waist, leaning back and wrapping your foot into the free silk, pulling yourself up, and twisting yourself around into this.
