On the left is my dad's McIntosh MAC1700 I just finished restoring (with one of his albums; currently listening to it as I type this) and on the right is the McIntosh 2505 (Darkside of the Moon in front; I was listening to that when I took the picture) I bought to pair with it to push my Sonus Fabers a little more. The sound of vinyl, running through tubes can't be beat... you'd swear it was a high quality cd and not a 44 year old amp and a 43 year old receiver.
Even the 30+ year old Jerry Garcia and friends 'Old and in the Way' sounds wonderful.

Yes, and no. CD does not have the same throughput as vinyl does... but cd is also HEAVILY modified and changed...
Pink Floyd is known for messing up a lot in their studio recordings... coughing, playing early and stopping, fingers sliding across guitar strings, people talking... on cd, a lot of that is removed digitally or the level is brought down. Vinyl, especially in a good system, is warm and present... it feels as if you're there and they are before you playing. Digital audio can bring you the same experience... but it is different and not the same.

Very well put. I miss my old record player. When I was a kid I was stupid and opped for a boom box so my parents sold it at a yard sell. I have some pink Floyd but also Elvis, eagles, Beach boys, and some Beatles all hand me downs from my dad and old cousin.

Whenever you want... i'm on vacation tomorrow and off all weekend :D I also have 2 systems to listen to. The one in my living room (pictures on her) and the one in my bedroom (this one). I really love the one in my bedroom for vinyl, but the living room is almost as good... it is close, but the one pictured on here is oh so damn good.
