During August of 2008, I successfully completed my PADI Open Water course and became a qualified diver. I'd been working on this picture throughout the classes, and completed it shortly afterwards to commemorate the event.
I hadn't used much reference for the picture, using mostly my memory from the course itself. The background was all made up as well, partly inspired by the lake where my open water dives were held.
I made some minor alterations to the picture since its upload to dA, namely making the water darker and some changes to the shading.
