MFF Sketch - Trax & Twitch meet SINISTAR
sfaosttrack20 came by and somehow I ended up talking about video games, or retro arcade games, and lo-and-behold he suggests this scenario as an idea for a picture. YEAH! Sinistar! RUN COWARD! I LIVE!! I could never bring myself to play this game back in the day because 25 cents wasn't easy to come by and my God, Sinistar was a hard game! I loved watching people play it and Sinistar himself was one of the first bonafide memorable characters with dialogue in videogame history. I loved drawing this!

Sinistar was the first game that scared the everloving hell out of me as a child. Hearing that damn mask croak "Beware, I live!" while ruthlessly chasing you down was enough to loosen the bowels of even the bravest gamer.
However, I later learned from the Saturn release Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits that Sinistar himself is the least of your worries. After you learn the trick (find the juiciest meteorites for mining, fill your ship to capacity with Sinibombs, then let Sinistar approach and unload them all in his face as you fly in the opposite direction), the Tanks become the most dangerous enemies in the game. The blasted things home in on you as you mine and spray bullets all over the place, making the later stages a nightmare.
Also, it's worth mentioning that there's an Xbox Indie Game called CheneyStar, based on everyone's (least) favorite vice president. It's not a good game, but it's prettier than the original thanks to the power of the Xbox 360, and there are a lot of fun surprises strewn throughout it. Definitely worth downloading the free demo at least.
