Obviously you've never had a cat get angry at you because you steal his poop.
You also have never had a dog who does it for you.
I have a dog who went through a phases where she wouldn't eat it, but she'd carry the little pellets like toys and leave them strewn randomly throughout the house.

My family's cat never figured this out. She wedges her snout in the little "V" between the door and the moulding and just... sits there. Apparently hoping that this time, after 14 years of failed attempts, it will open.
The hell of it is she's a fairly clever cat otherwise! It's just doors. Might as well be multivariable calculus.
