what started life in my head as a large submarine that is space capable with a set of strafing thrusters has been downsized to something of a gunboat in space. still fun though, and i can always rescale it later.

quick explanation:

orbital monitors are to function as interceptor ships in space and as a fast-attack ship in lieu of anything better to do otherwise. their strafing thrusters and electronic countermeasure systems will ensure an 88% miss rate from enemy ships by simply strafing around enemy capital ships while hosing them down.

due to their small size, they work better in a wolf pack configuration with support from a supply ship no thanks to their somewhat limited range which can be alleviated by fitting extra tanks onto the lower part of the hull.
