
multi-field attack tank ideas
nothing's pretty concrete yet but its getting there. oh and a random smaller, cuter rocket artillery rocket tank.
idea for the multi-field attack tank:
this is based on a key concept in the RTS game, the ability to modify your army to your tastes and playing style. for the speedy attacker, the multi-field tank of the confederate army can be equipped with a miniaturized starship's jump field generator, enabling to teleport itself and 2 other vehicles to any point in the map that has already been explored by the player.
for the more cunning ambushy people, the multi-field tank can be equipped with a cloak field generator that cloaks the tank and 2 other vehicles in a field that erases their visual and sensor presence at least until they attack.
the 2 configurations uses the field generator module on the tank which need time to recharge after each time it is deployed. its equipped with plasma packet missile pods, don't know where or how to place them yet. the idea comes from the old westwood games of red alert and command and conquer: namely the chronotank and stealth tank respectively, so i thought, why not both yeah?
light rocket artillery idea
i might toss this idea out but just to get it out of my system. belonging to the confederate side, it's a reverse half-track with a series of launchers on the hull and a larger rocket launch system on the back. the entire vehicle must be turned to face the target. this artillery piece was meant to appear early game as a tier 1 artillery; cheap, easily available, not terribly powerful but works well as early game artillery and a stop-gap measure late game. it was to work better at killing tanks by activating its own cloak field while stationary, which may have been game breaking, hence its new artillery role rather than anti-tank.
