I didn't a step by step pictured tutorial but basically you build a rudimentary structure with cardboard and hot glue over a DTD , making the crude form, after that you cover with tape, mark the tape, cut it out, and cut the foam using the tape, glue everything back together
Sounds amazingly simple to me as I'm somewhat familiar with things similar to that process (fyi: not these foam legs but other things in other areas of construction). I was worried about doing the conventional method of trying to make "pillows" to pad the legs out to the fur "just right". This is almost simpler!
I'm amazed at the result. Though I know I can't do within a thousand light years as good!

Yep, is a simple process, this is why o took this instead sculpt huge blocks of foam or do pillow pads. Would be complicated to travel with those stuff, this way you just push everything inside the trunk and travel without fear of extra weight on your luggage. actually my goal is build this with less cuts and glue possible, making the process faster and cleaner.
You should try too, isn't complicated since you already have the know how to built structures , can try with small pieces of foam to see how it works, and i can spare some tips too
hope someday make a step by step from nothing to suit

This is truly an amazing method I've seen done for leg padding so far, fantastic job! I noticed in a previous comment you explained how it was done but I was wondering when you say this can be squished down for traveling just how durable is it and how well does it maintain shape after being squished down a lot?
Is like any other foam, but depends the density, high density foams have no much memory effect, you can squish for weeks and wait about 6 hours or less to have the shape the original shape back. Low density foam tends to smear and rip with use and constant squishes (I did Awarak with low density foam on legs and now they look horrible :(, need to rebuild it).
The pod isn't tight on person, there some room. Here a video of it in action
