Actually the mens version would be known as a hakama and not a kimono. Two very different things. Either way very cool.

You're somewhat correct; I am still wearing a kimono which both genders wore. The hakama is the pant part; the stripy bit I'm wearing, which use to only be worn by men but both genders can wear them these days depending on the situation.

Ah, I see now. I just thought of the hakama as the entire outfit instead of two different pieces of clothing. Thank You for giving me that new bit of knowledge.
