That's really pretty, I have been there in the summer but never the winter. That'd be a good place and time to ask someone to marry them. :D

Yeah, it would :) I would just be afraid to take an engagement ring out there... the whole pier is coated in ice, and bringing something small and valuable like a ring is just asking for trouble.

You should see it when it gets really icy. Seriously: because the lake is freshwater, it doesn't take nearly as much to freeze as saltwater, but you get some pretty big waves still. They hit the lighthouse (from what I've seen, usually from the north), and the icicles get HUGE and go off to the side instead of vertical. I was hoping to find a spiky lighthouse when I arrived, but this was still pretty good.

at least you braved the weather.
